20 jours de vacances à prendre des voitures, des avions, à multiplier les kilomètres, pour s'éloigner de Québec. Some returned to France, others like me are paid dream trips. All Quebecers go to their family for the holidays. And January 10, all came back: Cuba farewell, farewell Paris, Bordeaux, farewell Saguenay and Beauce. It's time to rebuild his briefcase, buy new sheets of course, consult Capsule to know his schedule and his classroom.
I'm confident in this new session. My results of the previous semester (B +, A-, A & A) comfort me and fill me, especially since I have fewer classes for the winter. Requires memory! How many hours per week: six. Collected in one day. Two courses at the UL, just enough to still work hard, allow time for discovery and travel, and then, writing some 80 pages ahead of me, and I have to make early June (or when I am again somewhere in North America ...). My
6 hours does not constitute r éalité one course, proudly entitled "theatrology: new languages of the stage." That Luis T. behind this course, great Argentine professor recognized in Latin America for his work on new technologies in the theater. I look at his personal record on the site of the university, and his picture impresses me. I therefore expect the first course on Thursday, to understand the interest of his seminar. We meet at 8:30 am in a studio theater, and I am pleased to see Carine, the French early in the year, I had not seen since October. We sit in the stands among the few remaining 6 students of the course. We're 8, and the assistant teacher, a doctoral student in theater. Luis T. is there, shook my hand, wonder what I'm working. For the first time to students and a teacher, I must clearly want to specialize in women's literature in Quebec, and I see the corner of my eye a young girl looking at me with attention and interest. Another boy is on a "waaah" lip: I produce my little effect. But enough of personal presentation, Luis begins to speak of the course. This a seminar in his pleasant, where everyone can bring their personal competence in conducting a theater project for a dozen minutes. This will create a set design based on technology. I'm obviously concerned, especially when a young man shows up half an hour later with a Mac and a video cassette player to make us an introduction to Final Cut Pro. This brings me back five years ago, when I had to do my film tray on the same software. In the course, we know how to handle two to Final Cut Pro, and we listen to us reminisce (although the other person to fully film and therefore knows by heart!). The second part of the course in 12:30, is more theoretical. We reflect together on technology and its links with the theatrical space. A treat, especially if, later, I move into the fields of culture and the scene .... We watch video clips of things done in the past by Luis and discussing each in turn about our expectations vis-à-vis the seminar. To finally form two project groups, I find myself with Carine and two other daughters, one specializing in theater and philosophy, the other in music. Add to that computer skills, dance and singing (each has few things in those disciplines) to complete our new entity.
The other course, this is only the continuation of my research started in the special topic directed by Chantal S. We see Wednesday, January 12, for several things. At first, she handed me my work on Jovette Bernier (who had a Aj), indicating to me that the remarks made throughout the work are intended to make me rewrite my file to transform in section. She advises several magazines, including Voices and Images , led by Lori St. Martin: A lady I know well, a specialist in women's literature and Quebec I read many times. "If you make a thesis, you could have him as director of research." I had already thought ... Can we talk about my memory I want to include Flesh Disappointing in my body. Chantal encourages me to do so, repeating to myself that I have the "potential to make a great memory." Finally, we talk about the next six months: we decided to focus for now on women between 1945 and 1985. I get out of the office on the 7th floor, curious to discover the lesson plan that Chantal has sent me, and motivated to bottom. I firmly believe to have kept a powerful ally to Laval University, interested in my work and my aspirations, willing to help me with anything.
life resumed its course. I remember Eleanor and Aurélie very often. We were accomplices before Christmas, but those 15 days spent almost all us considerably closer. We go to movies, see (again, for my part) Black Swan. We will resume our sessions rink, on the course of the River St. Charles. I found Jean-Michel, Marc-Olivier, Sophie, Anne-Marie, Quebec with those whom I strongly linked. And with Francis, we organize evenings meal / movie / beer amazing! New faces arrive, old deserve. The fall book lists, future destinations suggest new adventures. I must already start thinking about my road trip to U.S. a month in June So many things to do, to undertake, consolidate, and especially try not to think that in six months, I'll be back in France. Because once the holidays passed, forming a kind of barrier behind which one can hardly see anything looming on the horizon departures, goodbye. The farewell (well, I really hope not!). For entertainment so I think a thousand things, all I have to do both I'm still in Quebec.
